2011 was year filled with film highs and lows. More lows
than highs sadly to say. 2011 saw the end come to Hogwarts and Harry potter’s
wizardry. Unfortunately we still must suffer through another Twilight film in
2012. This year saw the return of the Muppets and some great animated films with
Rango and the Adventures of Tin Tin. 2011 also saw Pixar stumble for the first
time with Cars 2, a miserable sequel. Two Actors put some serious time in last year, Ryan Gosling
and Michael Fassbender both had three films out in 2011. Gosling showed a wide
range in the comedy “Crazy, Stupid, Love” then the Drama “The Ides of March”
and finally in the dark action flick “Drive”. Fassbender showed us a lot more in the erotic “Shame”,
then as the distinguished gentleman in “Jane Eyre” and finally was my favorite
as Magneto in X-Men: First Class.
X-Men led the way as one of the best comic book adaptations
in 2011 with Captain America and Thor close behind. Sucker Punch failed to land
and Green Lantern’s pilot light went out as the flops of the year. That being said, here are the 10 best films
of 2011 followed by the 5 worst pieces of garbage we were forced to sit through
in 2011!
