Hiccup and Toothless must seek out the mysterious “Hidden World” in order to save their dragons in the finale of the animated series, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

Under Hiccup’s leadership, his clan of Vikings have turned their island into a dragon recue facility with the “pets” over-running Birk and forcing the young leader to turn to another island for his people to keep the dragons safe. Hiccup and girlfriend Astrid lead nightly raids against trappers freeing the dragons bringing them back to Birk.

The leaders of the hunters bring in an expert, Grimmel, a dragon killer and specializes in killing night furies like toothless. Grimmel wants Hiccup’s dragon because Toothless is the last night fury alive. Grimmel sets a trap and that evening he confronts Hiccup, Toothless and the rest of the clan. The gang manages to escape but Grimmel has plans to use a white Light Fury to draw out Toothless and lead him to the island that houses all these dragons.

Hiccup explains that the enemies are coming, and they are no longer a secret but obvious and in plain sight. The young lead Viking explains to all that Birk is the clan and the dragon and will be wherever they all are. Hiccup further explains of a “Hidden World” that is a dragon paradise that his late father (Gerard Butler) spoke of and mapped out routes to find it. So, the clan leaves the island in search of the Hidden world.

Valka (Cate Blanchett), Hiccup’s mother, doubles back to see that Grimmel is right on their tail and they must stop and fight. Hiccup leads a raid only to have Toothless and his new girlfriend the Light Fury captured by Grimmel. The evil Viking captures all the dragons leaving Hiccup and his crew on their own.

How are the Vikings of Birk to rescue Toothless without their dragons? Will they ever find the Hidden World and a safe have for the dragons? All these questions will be answered this weekend when you go to the theater and see “How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”.

This third installment is a beautiful ending to the series and is visually amazing, the animation at time looks so real! The Hidden World in the coming of age story for Hiccup and Astrid, as they are encouraged to wed and have Hiccup be the leader his father hoped he would be. The story is fun and has enough humor for the entire family to enjoy this film.
